Clearscan Environmental Ltd recognises its duty to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety, and welfare of all employees, contractors, clients, and others who may be affected by our work activities.
We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of health and safety management in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and all relevant regulations.
2. Our Responsibilities
The company will:

- Provide adequate information, instruction, training, and supervision

3. Management Responsibilities
Directors and managers are responsible for:
- Implementing this policy within their areas of control
- Ensuring risk assessments are conducted and reviewed
- Providing necessary resources for health and safety
- Leading by example and promoting a positive safety culture
- Investigating incidents and implementing corrective actions
4. Employee Responsibilities
All employees must:
- Take reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of others
- Cooperate with the company on health and safety matters
- Use equipment and substances in accordance with training
- Report hazards, incidents, and near misses promptly
- Not interfere with or misuse safety equipment
5. Risk Assessment
We conduct thorough risk assessments for all work activities, particularly those involving asbestos and hazardous materials. Assessments are reviewed regularly and whenever circumstances change.
6. Training
All personnel receive appropriate health and safety training, including:
- Induction training for new starters
- Role-specific training and competency assessment
- Refresher training at appropriate intervals
- Specialist training for asbestos work (BOHS P401, P402, P403, P404 as applicable)
7. Personal Protective Equipment
We provide appropriate PPE free of charge and ensure it is properly maintained. Employees are trained in correct use and must wear PPE as directed.
8. Incident Reporting
All accidents, incidents, and near misses must be reported immediately. We investigate all incidents to identify root causes and prevent recurrence. Reportable incidents are notified to the HSE as required under RIDDOR.
9. Emergency Procedures
Emergency procedures are in place for fire, first aid, and other emergencies. Procedures are communicated to all personnel and practised regularly.
10. Monitoring and Review
We actively monitor health and safety performance through inspections, audits, and review of incident data. This policy is reviewed annually and updated as necessary.
